PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Tonkin Highway Corridor upgrade between Roe Highway and south of Welshpool Road will widen Tonkin Highway to six lanes, construct new grade-separated interchanges at Hale Road and Welshpool Road East, and deliver a new shared path for pedestrians and cyclists. These upgrades will improve safety, reduce congestion and provide more reliable travel times along this important transport and freight corridor.
The works include three new bridge structures and three principal shared path underpasses, bulk earthworks, granular and asphalt pavements, drainage and basins, retaining and noise walls, public utility relocations, road lighting, intelligent transport systems, safety barriers, signage and landscaping and revegetation.
CONTRACT SUMMARY
Design and Construct contract with Main Roads Western Australia, Contract No. 20/24, delivered across three Separable Portions — SP1 Landscaping and Revegetation, SP2 Balance of Works, and SP3 Optional Works.
