PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Paraburdoo Mine is located approximately 2km from the township of Paraburdoo and has been in operation for over 50 years. Recently, RTIO has expanded into Western Range, extending the mine life an additional 25 years.
This is the third sustaining capital project RTIO has awarded to NRW on the back of two successfully completed projects at Nammuldi, completed 2022, and West Angelas, completed 2023.
CONTRACT SUMMARY
Scope of works includes:
- Excavation
- Demolition of rail and footings
- Prefabrication of footing segments
- Foundation prep
- Bedding and stitching rail footing
- Rail welding and installation
- Backfill from borrow
This project award marks NRW as a contractor of choice for current and future works through the ongoing relationship with Rio Tinto Iron Ore Sustaining Capital.
