PROJECT DESCRIPTION
NRW was requested to undertake various civil works at the Middlemount Mine site.
The Project included:
- Earthworks required for the construction of an Explosives magazine storage pad – 100,000 cubic metres of cut to fill earthworks
- Clear and grub and removal of topsoil – 550,000 cubic metres
- Recovery and cartage of rejects from tailings dam to ROM for re-processing
- Various general civil earthworks including – land bridges over pipelines, installation of culverts, construction of heavy vehicle haul roads, light vehicle access roads, general mine site maintenance
