PROJECT DESCRIPTION
NRW’s work scope is comprised of the construction of Phase 1 earthworks, civil and water infrastructure to enable waste material strip and ore mining of deposits E-West and F Southwest (FSW) at the West Angelas Mine, Western Australia.
The successful completion of the project is built on the existing relationship with the Capital Sustaining department of Rio Tinto on the West Angelas Mine site in which there were numerous contract awards as part of the Master Services Agreement.
Contract
The scope of work includes:
- preliminary works, mobilisation to and demobilisation from the site;
- establishment, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of borrow areas;
- relocation of existing topsoil stockpiles;
- clear and grub, topsoil and subsoil removal and stockpiling of the works and mine pit areas;
- construction of infiltration basins, drains and culvert installations;
- construction of HV haul roads and associated infrastructure;
- construction of LV access roads and associated infrastructure;
- construction of earthworks pad, windrows, roads and drainage for the overloaded tip-out, rehandle and hot-tyre facility.
