NRW was awarded the Nathan River (formerly Roper Bar) mining contract. The project is located in the Northern Territory approximately 606 kilometres south of Darwin and 165 kilometres from Bing Bong Port.
Contract
This contract covers the Stage 1 operations at Roper Bar with production of 4.6 metric tonne of direct shipping ore and 1.0 metric tonne of dense media separation production at 1.5 – 1.8 million tonnes per annum over three years.
The scope of work includes:
- Short term mine planning
- Drill and blast
- Load and haul
- Clearing and grubbing
- Top-soil and subsoil removal
- Rehandling of ore stockpiles
- Surface drainage
- Secondary breakage of material
At the projects peak there will be approximately 55 site-based personnel working on the contract.
