PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project entailed the construction and sealing of 36 kilometres of access road at the Hope Downs Mine.
NRW completed all earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, bituminous surfacing, linemarking, road signs and road furniture to Main Roads specifications. The total material moved was approximately 600,000 cubic metres.
The Works also included provision of traffic management required along the existing Hope Downs access track to maintain safe traffic flow during construction.
NRW completed the works in compliance with Pilbara Iron Railways Division (PIRD) Railroad Operating Rules and Regulations as applicable whilst working alongside existing operating tracks as well as the crossing of existing operating tracks.
