PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Coastal Water Supply Sustaining Project will deliver a seawater desalination plant to support existing Rio Tinto iron ore export operations at Parker Point. The water from the plant is planned to be transferred to the Water Corporation owned and operated West Pilbara Water Supply Scheme, where it will be distributed to Rio Tinto’s coastal communities and operations.
CONTRACT SUMMARY
NRW EGMWE JV have been appointed to construct the installation of piping and decant tower, as well as the wall raise earthworks.
The scope of earthworks includes:
- Ground Improvement and earthwork pad for the Desalination plant
- Earthworks pad for the intake pond area
- Access roads to these pads
- Associated civil works.
