PROJECTÂ DESCRIPTION
The North Star Early Access Civil Works Project involved bulk earthworks for access improvements into the North Star mine site and associated work areas. This included:
- Development of Darby Access Track, Valley Road and accommodation camp access track including working in close proximity to Heritage areas (clear, grub, topsoil removal, winning borrow from adjacent areas, flattening of horizontal curves, lengthening of vertical curves, widening narrow sections, drainage construction),
- Accommodation Camp Bulk earthworks (clear, grub, topsoil removal, cut to fill earthworks, grading and compacting, construction of perimeter drainage),
- Construction of Turkeys Nests (clear, grub, topsoil removal, preparation of natural material for base, import, condition and compaction of material for walls, lining with HDPE liner).
