PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The scope of work required on this project was the upgrade and expansion of the gravel runway at Rio Tinto’s Boolgeeda Aerodrome located near their Brockman 4 Mine.

Together with our indigenous joint venture partner, Eastern Guruma, the works included over 300,000 cubic metres of fill to construct a 2.2 kilometre by 45 metre wide bitumen sealed runway, complete with a new taxiway and apron as well as a new access road and carpark.

The scope also included ground works and in-ground services for new terminal buildings and airport.

The upgrade took approximately seven months to complete, and had a peak workforce of approximately 70 personnel.
