PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Solomon Kings Valley Ore Processing Facility – TSF1 Wall Raise Stage 1 project is located 60 kilometres north of Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
NRW were awarded the contract as a joint venture with Eastern Guruma and Wirlu-Murra JV (EGWME JV).
NRW have a strong relationship with Eastern Guruma having successfully completed numerous projects including Western Turner and Nammuldi Below Water Table bulk earthworks together.
CONTRACT SUMMARY
NRW EGMWE JV have been appointed to construct the installation of piping and decant tower, as well as the wall raise earthworks.
The scope of earthworks includes:
- 2,095,000 cubic metres of borrow to fill
- 20,000 cubic metres of cut to fill
- 12,000 cubic metres of drill and blast
- 119,313 square metres of foundation preparation
- Installation of decant piping and tower
The project employed 108 workers at its peak, 92 of which were direct employees of the NRW EGWME JV.
The contract award marked NRW’s thirteenth project with Fortescue and is a testament to the strength of the relationship.
