PROJECT DESCRIPTION
- upgrade of approximately 25km of the existing Mine Access Road for the Short-Term Road Trains solution, with existing 7m seal width extended to 9m width and the addition of parking bays and intersection auxiliary turn lanes;
- realignment of the West end of the existing Mine Access Road to the North of the future HD2 mining areas, with a new access road, approx. 8.5m long;
CONTRACT SUMMARY
The contract is to perform waste rock dump rehabilitation trials required by Argyle Diamonds to facilitate the planning of the mine closure feasibility study.
Works includes:
- road shoulder reconstruction;
- seal widening;
- breakdown bays;
- intersection treatments;
- pavement rectification;
- earthworks pads for lighting towers;
- road reseal, road marking road furniture,
- traffic management to enable all the works to be undertaken in a safe manner, while the road is being used by RTIO and the public;
- borrow pit establishment and management;
- set up of construction water;
- shoulder and batter reconstruction to reinstate the condition of the road;
- intersection treatment at required intersections;
- construction of breakdown bays;
- earthworks pads for lighting towers;
- pavement rectification at required locations;
- level crossing approach rectification.
