PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  • upgrade of approximately 25km of the existing Mine Access Road for the Short-Term Road Trains solution, with existing 7m seal width extended to 9m width and the addition of parking bays and intersection auxiliary turn lanes;
  • realignment of the West end of the existing Mine Access Road to the North of the future HD2 mining areas, with a new access road, approx. 8.5m long;

CONTRACT SUMMARY

The contract is to perform waste rock dump rehabilitation trials required by Argyle Diamonds to facilitate the planning of the mine closure feasibility study.

Works includes:

  • road shoulder reconstruction;
  • seal widening;
  • breakdown bays;
  • intersection treatments;
  • pavement rectification;
  • earthworks pads for lighting towers;
  • road reseal, road marking road furniture,
  • traffic management to enable all the works to be undertaken in a safe manner, while the road is being used by RTIO and the public;
  • borrow pit establishment and management;
  • set up of construction water;
  • shoulder and batter reconstruction to reinstate the condition of the road;
  • intersection treatment at required intersections;
  • construction of breakdown bays;
  • earthworks pads for lighting towers;
  • pavement rectification at required locations;
  • level crossing approach rectification.
